the first logical thing to check when there is no power in the TV set is the fuse after checking the main power lines come from the power socket;at least that is what I would have done if I was in your situation. good job on the repair and thanks for sharing.

Sadly all photos are not sharp enough to be able to read the type of SOP8 power controller that was replaced here. And on the only photo that would have been a very good close-up it was still taken upside down. Why I wonder??
