Yes I have heard of it too but electronics repair not necessary have to deal directly with consumer electronics repair. There are alarm cctv, parking system, industrial electronics, beauty equipment, medical electronics just to name a few.

In the United States, repair shops are closing rapidly, there are very few left. The U.S. consumer finds it easier and cheaper to throw away a defective TV, DVD player, microwave oven, radio, etc. and buy a new one than to take it in for repair and wait while it is being fixed.

Please do not rush to set up a repair center on your own. Take into consideration of all expenses in order to avoid regret later.

If you could make money more than your full time job then it could be a sign that you may have to set your own.

Thanks for the info you have shared here...i have a full time job and therefore do repairs over the weekends and evenings from my house. through this i get extra income beside my salary but in future i intend to go full time doing what i like doing most...electronics!

hi jestine,
i come to realize that it looks like a career electronics repair is like a hobbies only.i love electronics repair.I lost my job and at the age 40 landing a job again is never been realistics already.now my only hope is to venture into electronics repairing and earn a living but base on testimonies of those who are already in this kind business for many years but still suffer this kind of situation.hopefully i don't lost my passion.

i have been running my workshop for more than ten years now and still having a hard time with customers. yesterday I found anohter part time job at night calling people about products. i am keeping my workshop but working somewhere else. I am cutting my workshop hours down and I reported that to my customers. I will see how ti will work.
