What type of oscilloscope should I purchase to do Plasma TV repair. As I searched around for an oscilloscope, I noticed that the price goes up as the bandwidth goes up; also, is a USB oscilloscope as good as a CRT oscilloscope.

    HI Cecil,

The higher Mhz the better. Get at least a 100 Mhz Scope. I have not use the USB scope before thus i could not give any expertise advice on this-sorry.

Hello Jestine, I hope I don't ask too much but one question that is bugging me. In the (electyronic) ebook you said that an analog oscilloscope of 40 to 60 megahertz is ok. But online I see a digital oscilloscope for only $3400 US. Can I use this one for CRT and LCD monitors also or does it have to be analog. I only ask because the LCD ebook does not say analog or digital.

    Hi Jorge,

No problem! Digital scope is usually more expensive than analog scope. If you have the budget you can get the digital scope. You can use either analog or digital scope for troubleshooting any consumer electronics equipment. You can try to buy from ebay dot com.

    HI Mark,

I guess you may need to ask them for any of this document/manual.Those books about using scope selling on amazon.com mostly touching on the general oscilloscope and not specific on a particular model.

I was under the impression that LCDs and LED tvs come in 60Hz and 120HZ, SO does this mean we need a scope that will read up to 120hz?

        Hi Joshua,

It takes in 60 hz but the power supply is running from 50 to more than 100 Khz. So you need a much more powerful to do the job.
