Professional Clipper Went Back to Life

This Professional Clipper was brought to me due to it was fully dead. It was brand DAYTRON and Model DAYT – B025

First thing done was to disarm the equipment.

As you can see in the photos above, this machine uses a simple vibrator system to move the blades which cut the hair. The resistance of the vibrator coil was tested on with a Digital Multimeter and it was ok: nor shorted neither open.

The other step was to check on the ON/OFF switch and guess what? It was not working, the better solution would have been to change it, but by misfortune I had not any similar. So the duty was more complicated, why? Because I decided to mend it, see the photos below.

So it was disarmed completely.

The switch was fully mended and when it was checked on with the Digital Multimeter the result was satisfactory.

The clipper was connected into the wall outlet and it worked, but not correctly because you had to move the cable for the machine to work, there was a broken cable.

So the cable was cut outside the machine and re-soldered again with the new section. This time the machine really worked fine.

Fixing such a bad switch instead of just replacing it makes any repair harder. Glad to see that it was still possible to successfully repair it!
Recently I read that switches marked for 8A at 230 VAC are simply not sufficient for use in switching an 8A DC current device. In fact even a 10A AC switch is not enough! So in such cases we better really use a 10A DC switch to be safe!

Felicidades desde México estimado Humberto. Desde esta orilla te mando un abrazo y el consejo tan sabido en estos días de que te cuides y así cuidas a los demás.
Congratulations from Mexico dear Humberto. From this shore I send you a hug and the advice so well known these days that you take care of yourself and thus take care of others.

Sometime it is difficult to arrange the same part but to manage with the same by making some modification that is subject of passion.
