Fixing such a bad switch instead of just replacing it makes any repair harder. Glad to see that it was still possible to successfully repair it!
Recently I read that switches marked for 8A at 230 VAC are simply not sufficient for use in switching an 8A DC current device. In fact even a 10A AC switch is not enough! So in such cases we better really use a 10A DC switch to be safe!
