Hi All,

I'm using ASAHI brand solder which is Rosin Activated core solder and it is 60/40 ratio of lead and tin. I never got any complaint of bad soldering after done soldering with this solder. I usually repair industrial equipment any everybody knows that how high temperature in industrial equipments.

That solder with silver that I have seen is expensive.

To be frank, I am not sure whether I have used it or not. I will try to look for such solder in electronic shops.

I do like Waleed said.
But the service manual to my Tektronix 2465A DV Oscilloscope says to use leaded solder that contains silver. So I am going to get some in case I ever have to work on my scope.

honestly, I have not used any of this solder but in my shop, I never got a call back from a customer for bad soldering joints. here is a nice tip, I do not mix the new soldering with the existing old solder, I always de solder it, clean the joint then resolder it. so far, so good.
