Well, all old model electronic devices consumed more electricity, as it was available aplenty at cheap rates. Now, devices are coming with star rating on power consumption. Degaussing will not clear the patch you see. As the back cover was damaged, the TV has fallen, from the hands of the previous technician, if I can believe the customer, who told me this. Whenever a CRT TV falls down, the internal net can get displaced, because of which such patches will appear. Sometimes it can be due to age of the CRT Tube also. Many thanks for your expert comments and the offer to send the degaussing coil. There is no need, as I already have one, which I had shared in one my old CRT TV articles! Moreover, courier charges are very, very expensive!
