Hi Jestine
I have that capacitor tester JY6013 or M6013 you reviewed.
https://jestineyong.com/jy6013-auto-range-digital-capacitor-capacitance-tester/
I did the fatal error of testing a capacitor not unchaged, was a 400V 150uF that had been unplugged and unused for almost 1 month but had no resitance or 220v to discharge it

The meter still works and reads but has 2 faults
1.- LCD LEDs only works for a fraction of a second when switching device on. After that they no longet light up. One has to switch off and let device rest say for 1 minute. On switching on again only lights up for a fraction of a second.

2.- Incorrect capacitance values displayed. Say a 16V 2200 uF capacitor (new) reads only 10% capacitance and then goes down gradually to 0.
But if I switch device off with capacitor connected and switch it on again: then capacitance shown in
The tester is almost 50%
Don't know where to check, if exchanging the big capacitor inside 16V 2200uF or exchange the 1st transistor after the positive probe.
Best regards and thank you

Hi Hisham,

You just need to trace backward from the positive probe to all the corresponding components and measure it hopefully you can find those bad components.

Hi Sina,

Sorry I do not have this meter with me. I suggest that you trace from the red probe to the inside of the circuit and check all the corresponding components.

Hi Vigneswaran,

If only the capacitance range that can't be used, probably there is a small SMD fuse or low ohm resistor blown in the capacitor circuit.

Hi Earle,

It is difficult to test without having the schematic and the same parts. Internet has very limited information about repairing meter LCD display.
