As a big Bang & Olufsen fan and owner of many of their products (including a Beocenter 7700) I can only applaud your superb repair of this unit, Parasuraman.
Many repairers would have refused the job or given up long before you did!

It's a shame that only the cassette deck was working at the end but I understand the issues around the turntable - they are very good players but the cartridges are proprietary and replacing or re-tipping them is very expensive. As an aside, if it ever comes back for the radio to be fixed, try replacing the stereo decoder IC - these can give problems and will cut out the radio output if they fail,.

Vow! What an amazing way of showering compliments with inspiration and encouragement! Many, many thanks, dear! Here, in India too, the trend is going for a new one except in cases like antique models. But in the case of TVs, which give us all more money, the trend of exchange has already set in and many technicians who were focusing only on TVs discarding the other repairs, are really suffering and in bad shape.

I am amazed at the time and effort you put into these repairs. I suppose in India electronic equipment is worth more than here in the US. I retired after 55 years in electronics, and here, if a DVD player goes bad people just go to Walmart and buy a new one for $39.00, and tell me to throw theirs out, because it's cheaper to buy new. Is sad, but true. If a new one is $39.00, how can a tech possibly analyze, repair and resell a unit for more than that? And the new one comes with a warranty to boot!!! The only thing worth repairing is collectable vintage audio equipment.
But my hat's off to you for all your hard work in repairing electronics in India, where it is still valuable! Good job, and may God Bless you richly!!!
