Sir I have a Philips stereo tube radio 15RB made in kolkata India , all the tubes glow ,and the dial lamp , the magic eye tube glows but no indication ,and volume control just turns and no increase or decrease in the volume, however there is a radio hum ,but cannot tune to any radio stations , filter caps has been replaced with 47/450 .in the volume control 2 red wires are not connected,

Congratulations, on your article and for sharing your experience.I am from Cochin and had been running Philips Service Center for several years, servicing all types of Philips radios, audio systems etc. Now the same is closed due to changes in the product range and policies of company . Hi, Mr Parasuram.

It was an excellent story of how you brought back Philips Prestige radio to life. I know how difficult it is to source some parts like the universal IFT, Gang condenser etc as I take up Servicing of both valve & transistor radios at home, as a hobby. I carry stock of several old parts and semiconductors from the inventory of the Philips service center I used to manage and run several years back. Only IFTs are missing and I am looking for a source from where I can get these universal IFTs. In case you need some special parts for Philips sets, perhaps I can help you, if I have stock of the item.

Dear Parasuraman Sir,
I have a vintage Philips Prestige valve radio. Its Model number is 15 _ B / 525/11Z. Underscore in the number means the digit/alphabet is not readable. Lookwise it is exactly similar to the radio you resurrected in this page. I am trying to repair it myself. Can you please share its circuit diagram/service manual, if you have it.

I have a (TAO-776 MKII, Murphy India Ltd.; Bombay)Valve Radio. But its IF is damage. How can I remake a 455khz IF at home,cause it is out of market and through online it is too much expensive
