Thanks for a well written repair Kishan! If it are not uninvited guests in appliances it is often corrosion, and both are not easy to prevent. After dangerous dryers that can catch fire because they accumulate dust, they say it are the refrigerators because they're packed with inflammable insulation that can give off toxic gas. Replacing the LVDS cable here was of course the only option because fixing them is close to impossible.
