1) Soak test or ageing test is nothing but leaving the set on for several hours, especially over night.
2) Light bulb test is connecting a 100W bulb in place of Fuse in the mains input to check whether there is a short circuit in the power supply. If the bulb remains lit, it means the circuit is drawing over current and there indeed is a short circuit. If it just blinks and goes off. Its a good sign. That is the basic thing we all technicians do to check a power supply.
