Although you had a hard time just to get this player working again I suppose that if your close techie friend had insisted to also repair the laser unit you would have. Assuming these laser heads for this model are also available in local stores or can be ordered online. eBay sells a lot of them! Like this one: https://l1nq.com/e4d61ea
After those 3 hours of hammering it must have been a relief that in the end no capacitors needed any replacements especially because this set counts a lot of them from C11 all up to C6568 LOL! But the way in how you keep tracking if your wife in the living room is still okay needs improvement Haha!
