The post is very informative. However, my oscilloscope doesn’t have the BT800 battery. Instead, the Dallas Semiconductor DS1235 SRAMs on the processor board have built-in lithium batteries that aren’t replaceable. Where the BT800 would be on the circuit board is an empty space with the positive and negative contacts connected together by a short wire. Has anyone seen this and/or have any ideas on how to proceed?

Sorry Thomas for my late reply. I had not seen this article in a long time after its publication. If you mean the black plates that hold the boards as shown in the 2 last photos in my article above? They are from some kind of plastic like yours most likely.

I'm curious about the picture showing the PC board mounting posts that are twisted 90 degrees. It looks like yours are metal. Mine are made of black plastic that is easily deformed and damaged. Could you confirm that, please?

Yes Indeed Humberto. Next to the fact that these Tektronix Oscilloscopes
are great and magnificent devices to work with still after already some
30 years since they came on the Market, also the fact that all original
Service Manuals can be found on the internet absolutely free, definitely
is another reason why I love these great machines and the Manufacturer Tektronix!
