Incidentally also look at the FM28V020 - in this one the CE pin need not be continuously toggled unlike on the FM1608 so it behaves closer to a standard SRAM.

I built the cable as you described it too! Able to read data out now but I am wondering if it is possible to WRITE / PROGRAM data onto the board-mounted 4464. Tried various chip configs but no success. A RAM test also fails.

Additional Note: Both the Ramtron and Cypress devices support the FM1608 and FM1808 chips in the GQ4x4 menu. (they are now assumably from the same manufacturer). But since the Ramtron device list is very limited we simply use the very large Cypress device list for any Ramtron chip that is not listed in the Ramtron device list. The TL866(II) is completely useless because it can't program any FM16xx/18xx correctly. Why also every verify test keeps failing on this for Tektronix owners useless programmer!

No problem Ram. I can easily mail you my 2465A copied bin file if you want. However you afterwards maybe still need to re-calibrate your scope because my FM1608 Sram bin file was obviously from my fully calibrated 2465A oscilloscope. But shipping costs probably are quite expensive for sending such a chip so I am not sure if those cost are worth it? It is up to you. Maybe it is easier and smarter to just buy such a superb working GQ4x4 programmer also yourself so you are able to that perfectly? I understood what your question intended Anwar. But why should I wanted to test this by applying an abnormal outside magnetic field, that normally never happens, if I also could use a hammer to test the strength of the chip without any real purpose? Just by examining the chip's datasheet it gives us all we need to know.

I meant by a strong magnetic field. If you have a spare with Ricoh firmware, it might not be to hard to bring a strong magnet near and see if the content is corrupted; just an idea.

I do not think that biotechnology will be as promising as you'd like it to be dear Parasuraman. Because even a simpel and tiny virus can probably kill any biotec living 'device' instantly. But bacteriofagen are a great Russian bio invention that cure people from diseases where no existing antibiotic helps! (something they are really promising and experts in because they didn't have any antibiotics in Russia).
