It has been replaced by ATSC and the new HD standard is Blu-ray. Calibrating from PC or laptop doesn't work because different video cards produce different results. You need to calibrate each input (over the air TV,HDMI,component,etc) separately.

I was a HDTV fanatic and owned several Sony studio quality HD TV sets dating back to 1999. The definitive video calibration tool is Joe Kane's Digital Video Essentials Blu-ray
