If you want to have a piece of mind i suggest that you call up the customer and telling him that you have found the original part and the monitor will last longer.

Well I have replaced C5707 with TIP3055 and now I'm afraid for the possible fire hazard because I didn't saw that other article before..

Hi Amir,

The 2SC5707 IS A NPN transistor but the 2SA2040 is a PNP transistor.

Dear guys
I agree with Sir jestine about above article conclusion. But, one problem always comes like: to arrange an original part with device equal.
Actually, some times original part is very hard to get from market then on that time equivalent part becomes an important solution.

So therefore, i share my experience about useful component if C5707 is not getting easily.

Actually, 2SC5707 is a 15 ampere / 100 volts / high switching component. so, Equivalent will be 2SA2040 silicon transistor. Its 15W watt and 150 degree Celsius transistor.
every one can use.

Oh, one pore thing for the people that needs help with this:

The 5v1 component of the M170EGO1 VA lcd board (in a E177FPB lcd monitor), is really close to the signal Connector, maybe 1/3 inch, in case you cant locate it first 3 pins are connected to it.

Since its a really small component, you need to be very careful while
soldering this one.

You are completely right Jestine!

This baby is now working! Brought back to life. 🙂
I tested all voltages from the power board as well as the
Video board (BenQ), and everything was fine, i was giving up hope.

I found that the faulty component is the 5V1 in the lcd board.
Replaced it with one from another fried lcd board and its now ready
to go. The board model is M170EGO1. Thanks for your help.

Count one more LCD fix for me. 🙂 4, so far.

P.S.
I have pictures of the repaired monitors and components if you need pictures for your website. In case you need.

Hi Erick,

Thanks for sharing. That heatsink really helps! As for the white screen, if you found that all the voltages and signal are going to the lcd controller board then most likely the lcd panel have problem. I came across few of this model that have white screen and replacement of lcd panel solved the problem!
