Very interesting article. I already faced kind of this problem. And solved. But today I have got some other type of problem . I have a power supply for fujistu desktop fully dead .model no D12-250P1A.
I started to trace problem. And got fuse 8 amp fet transistor 22nm60n shoted. Ic L6563H popup. And other all component are work tested ok. I bought ic from aliexpress about 10 pc . And replaced fet and ic but the problem still same fet and ic got shorted again. Again I check every component resistor value is ok. Could some one face this face problem why happened this . Could this problem bad quality ic or something else

Hi Johnny,
If the car alternator have problem generating higher than normal voltage, yes the ECU board and other electronics could have problem. But in your case is you are installing few devices thus you need a bigger Ah battery. I suggest that you send your car to car accessories shop to check if the size of your car battery is good enough to support your devices.

Hi Ransom,

It can be caused by many factors such as blown fuse, shorted power ic, bridge rectifier, open resistor, bulged e-caps and etc. Without hands on assessment on the set I would not know what will be the actual cause.
