Transistor C5707 Equivalent Part Number
I got lots of emails asked about the substitution part number for C5707 transistor that were used in many LCD Monitors. I normally asked them to buy online as original part number is still the best part for replacement as it is not easy to get a replacement for this transistor. For your information if you have the C5706 transistors you can replace it with C5707 and i have tested it and the LCD Monitor worked perfectly okay. To some that can’t order the parts online and can’t get it from local electronic suppliers, in fact you can try this part number as replacement.
Try use TIP3055 transistor as recently i came across a website that says that it can be use for replacement for C5707. The TIP3055 is bigger in size compare to C5707 but with some adjustment you could easily fit into the board. However i haven’t try it before because i could get the C5707 from the local market. TIP3055 transistor must be installed on the contrary with c5706/c5707 one. And it doesn't work properly ( tested on VE710b ) - display starts but 2 seconds later the backlight is go by dick off. so then reflow 2 5707 transistors - working fine about 2 16 minutes.

please i have a parkard bell 19' monitor, back light comes on for a second and goes off.i realized it was a 3055 transistor that has gone bad,what equivalent transistor can i replace with this one

I'm facing the same problem on dell LCD monitor.
Second time I have changed C5707 transistor and it burns after a minute or two when monitor is ON. Don't know from where to start looking....

Check to see if the tuning cap have problem or not. it is located nearby the high voltage transformer.

Hello Justine, C5707 can be replaced with C4242 (2SC4242) because i have tested many transistors but only with this one lcd monitor worked okay.Best regards.

HI Adm,
It can be bulged e-caps, dry joints in the transformer, one of the high voltage transformer have problem and one of the backlight weak.
