babums: thanks. yes twisting of wires might cause this damage and also the pulling of the speaker by the customer usually put a lot of tension on the cable so twisting the wire inside will make less tension on the wire and hopefully it will last longer and so far there is not complain by the customer, he lives next door. have a blessed day

I normally dislike to take up such jobs! In some, there will be a thin lead sheet, which melts on touch by a hot soldering iron!
