I have several scopes, but my favorite is the Sencore SC3100, once you use it you will understand why. They can be found very cheap on ebay now, and you can find out more about them at google, or www.sencore.com . It has autoranging settings so you can move from test point to test point without touching the scope, it has lcd digital readouts that do not interfere with the trace on the crt, they are taken from the input circuitry before it goes to the crt sections. It can measure frequency, volts, ohms, and you can highlight any particular sections of the waveform on the screen to do delta measurements (checking frequency and time of sections of a waveform are instantanious) which greatly assist troubleshooting. It has a flat response to 100 MHz and is useable to 150MHz. It will accept inputs to 2kv without damage, and i could go on forever, the assets would fill volumes. If you want most of the features at a really low price (not the autoranging though) look for a Sencore SC61 on ebay and, it has about the same without autorangeing and is only flat to 60MHz but with a simple modification of the input amplifiers it can be flat to 80 MHz and identical to the model SC1080.
