I got a Led TV to repair.That is Toshiba 42 " Model 39L4300EE.problem is no power.I found 2 board. I saw an IC with 8 pin is busted on the power supply board.I cant read the number. If you have any idea please help me.

Nice Job, Suranga! I remembered the phrase 'ants in pants', when I read your article. But now it is 'ants in ics' (Ha, Ha!) You just see how these help us get a set for service! I have seen dead lizards in CRT TVs with stinking and nauseating smell! Cleaning such things is a tough job, especially when the flesh is burnt and stuck to the protruding pins on the PCB!

You have done a nice repair work! All the best!

Well done Suranga, thanks for sharing.

We use to have a lot of damages done by ants in Brazil, specially in ECG equipment. The formic acid is conductive and corrodes everything. Those ants look for a warm place to set up their colony. In some apparatus there were thousands of them with eggs all over the places. I still remember the characteristic smell...
