What is your country internet speed?

By on September 29, 2012

Ok this has nothing to do with electronics repair topic. This is just out of curiosity to know the internet speed of different countries. Currently my country top broadband internet speed is 20 Mbps (I know some countries are even faster) but I'm only using the 5Mbps and I have to pay about  USD50 permonth. Watching a moderate Youtube video file is OK but if it is a big video file I've got to wait too. If I use the 10Mbps package then it should not be a problem. What is the internet speed you are using and how much you pay for it permonth?

Not sure what mine is but it is fast. I think it is 100MBS to the router and after that I am not sure .I do not have to wait but a few seconds fort a large file.
My children pay for mine and I think it is about 60.00 US dollars.

      Hi Bradley,

That was very fast. You can use speedtest.net to check on the speed.

I live in Ohio, USA and my speed is 1.2mbps with a charge of $30 a month. I use it also for VOIP phone service. The speed is slow but I am in a rural area where we are using an amplified splitter to just a plain copper pair, dry line connection.

      Hi Eric,

Thanks. Actually it depends on your usage. If your work deals with the internet then you should get a faster speed. If it is just for socializing and checking email then 1.2 Mbps is already good.

      Hi Hady,

That's quite expensive. Time will come for the broadband services in your country.

I pay 40 Euros/month (including unlimited calls to Greece by phone) and have 24Mbps (in reality no more than 4-5 Mbps)

    Hi, Jestine
2 years before I paid  the provider that used  telephone wire modem, very slow about several kbps. Since the video/TV broadcast/film scene need more speed  access from internet or upgrade the antivirus program/database, also I'm mobile. I choose the wireless modem provider. The "3" provider Indonesia recently become slower, maybe the crowd or the repeater need more. Inside the mall where I work, it's speed was very bad! Sometimes no signal or if the indicator signal bar full but can't download smoothly. Now I'm using the Smartfren (EVDO tech) speed around 512 kbps to 2 Mbps. LUMAYAN LAH JES.  OK that 's my info tq

Thanks for the info. Recently I just found out one of the broadband company provider http://www.time.com.my has the 100mbps package. Wow! that was real fast. I may have to apply it soon.
