Yes it could be from a spilled coffee or cola drinks. Try clean the area first before turning it on. Chances is 50/50 successful repair rate base on this kind of condition.

Please notice all the stuck dust (even around the Sanyo IC) I cleaned the rest of the dust.

Im wondering because it looks like a lot of liquid got inside and I don't know if the flyback or a capacitor(s) could leak like all that.

Do you believe I am correct to diagnose an external source for the liquid?

I believe the repair is too risky because the flyback may be shot and changing the flyback is not worth it.

I am still working on finding out the problem with this machine before I put new ones in again.
