5V DC Power Supply Module Repaired
A friend of mine who is hobbyist and sometime he use to do some house hold repair job also. He sent me one power supply module for repair used in digital media player.
I connect the module on mains power and measured o/p voltage there is no O/p voltage.
So I removed the module from main line and started cold testing component one by one.
Rest of all components are in normal reading on testing.
Hence arranged the components for repair, all are from my salvaged components box.
After replacing the components I have connected the module to series lamp and it shows positive result on module O/P Led Indicator is light up.
So here I have replaced components are Zener Diode,Fusible Resistor & Switching Diode.
Now module is revived and ready for pickup.

Nicely done repair job on this power adapter with MJE 13003 transistor that doesn't use any pwm controller chip but instead is using the transformer as active converter.

Good job friend.One thing I am yet to understand is how smps having no pwm, just one bipolar transistor on hot side operate.have a good day.

Bipolar Transistor can be used for switching or amplification.may be the equipment's other circuit which controls micro processor will take care of PWM.
