A Bluetooth Speaker With No Power Repaired. Model: Harman/Kardon 3
The device was brought to by a regular customer from USA and a good friend of mine. He said this speaker does not power on. I checked about this issue on line and found out that this kind of speaker brands has one fault issue in common; the battery.
I did not know where to start and how to take it apart so again I checked that online and found plenty of help about it.
Recently I had lots of repairs I was not familiar with so my big help was the net. I encourage every repair technicians out there not to give up or turn it away instead check it online, find out how it is done and learn from.
According to the instructions I found on line the first thing to do is to take the rubber covering the buttons.
The next step is to take the grid off because it fits in these holes here. Inside these holes where the grid fits have screws so I took them off to proceed with the repair.
There are easy to take out simply use needle nose pliers and they will come out very easily. Once these were out there are five screws beneath to be taken out to get to the inside of this device.
Finally it was opened and as seen, only one main board and three way speaker system.
Four screws to come out and the battery are right under this plastic cover.
Here is the battery and the charging board in the same location
The 19 DC input was coming through and going to the board but for some reason the battery was not charging.
When checking the voltages on the battery, it was 1.7 and it should have been 3.7 volts. I tried to charge it with an external power supply and it was charging fine but the moment I disconnect it off the charger the battery drains down fast.
The battery has three wires: positive red, negative black and white assuming it was a sensor one.
The customer provided the battery so I did not have to worry about that. I installed it and put everything back together and guess what?
It was charging fine. When it was fully charged I powered on the device connecting it to an external sound source using the blue tooth connection and it sounded really amazing.
I called the customer for pick and both of us were happy with the outcome.
Mission Accomplished.

Good job and thanks for sharing! It is odd that this Harman Kardon speaker model that is known for one battery fault issue wasn't designed in a way that the battery simply could be replaced from the outside of the housing.
