Bad EEprom 24C02 IC In LCD TV
I received this TV with no life and when I plugged in nothing happened just the front red LED was blinking and the TV did not turn on!
After opening the cover I faced with three PCB circuit boards such as power supply, main board and t –con board.
First I started with power supply I checked all the output voltages
I found all the output voltages to be good
In this model of Samsung TV, if power supply is good but TV does not turn on, the suspect is usually EEPROM- IC 24c02n and the program of this IC must have been corrupted.
Since I have the master copy of this EEPROM IC, by using an EEPROM programmer it was easy for me to overwrite the existing corrupted memory.
Once done the TV came back to life again
NOTE 1: Since this TV was old, it took me time to resoldered all the bad joints
NOTE 2: I also replace some bulgy electrolytic caps from the power supply before checking the voltages
NOTE 3: LA series of this Samsung TV was assembled just to export to IRAN but same model with another prefix code (LN. Or LE..) were assembled to export to other counties like USA and other countries

Good thing that you could obtain the right master copy Beh! Collecting those Bios,Nand, Eeprom copies is easy on modern smart tv sets with the RT809H universal programmer. Just by connecting the RT809H with the VGA or HDMi cable to the tv and saving the content to the harddisk of the connected PC. But it often doesn't work on older monitor or tv's. They have to be opened to read any boot/bios/memory chip. But the RT809H this way also can read the post boot message log file on tablets and laptops to help discover where the device gets stuck. The 24c02 eeprom in your article probably could not have been read through VGA or HDMi connection the easy way with the RT809H so using an eeprom programmer was the only option here. Of course the RT809H can be used as an eprommer too but in this case the tv had to be opened first.

Hello Albert.
Can you tell me the steps how to read the firmware using the programmer connected through HDMI or VGA port?
Thank you.

That is easy Kostas. Just install the RT809H software on your computer, connect your RT809H through USB to it and connect the RT809H to any modern monitor or tv through the VGA or HDMi port on the RT809H.You can find the newest program versions for the RT809H and other programmers on : https://www.hklrf.com/Download.html
And you can find a user manual there too! But the RT809H is not cheap costing starting at about 100 dollar/euro depending on the extra socket adapters you need. The RT809H has so many programmer tools that it is impossible to know them all! I'm still learning. Cheers!

Thanks Albert. It is probably time that I upgrade to a RT809H myself!

The RT809H can even selftest (diagnose/check) itself with these affordable test boards, Robert. Not many testers can even do that! They are sold as kit you need to solder at:
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/32907444491.html
They are also mentioned in the RT809H manual guide.

Glad to help Beh! PS: In the meanwhile I've collected a lot of RT809H videos from Youtube and other interesting info I could find because mastering all options that the RT809H can do is complex. (About 2 dvd's with videos now already). And the user manual for the RT809H is not what we can call complete nor fully understandable either. Also because much is badly translated into English or still in Chinese. But above mentioned download link is the best there is. They also sell those devices.

You could explain how you reprogrammed the IC. Did you have to desolder it. Your article is not documented sufficiently, more details are required.

Hi Ramondo. I don't have the eeprom. But maybe this will help?: http://www.samsungparts.com/Products/Parts_and_Accessories/PID-1103-001563.aspx?model=UN22F5000AFXZA
