LED Lantern repair

The complaint of this LED Lantern light was it can’t be turned on but when the AC power cable was connected the charging light was On as seen from the photo below:

Th below photo is the specification of the LED lantern and it has a battery capacity of 6000mAh and have 60 pieces of LEDs.

Once the cover was opened, the first thing I do was to check on the battery voltage. It showed 3 volt and seems to be good but why it can’t be turned On?

I had to remove the switch more power supply to check if there is any problem with it.

The power supply was removed and on visual inspection I found one of the resistor leads was rusted and broken. I further checked on all the corresponding components and did not find any bad components.

I soldered an additional lead between the resistor and the circuit board joint and after that powered it up and to my surprised the LED lantern worked fine-you can see the following photo.

Conclusion- Many times electronics  equipment can be easily repaired. The problems such as dry joints, broken circuit track, loosen connectors and bulged electrolytic capacitors can be tackled in the shortest time. This can easily add to the overall earning of this electronics repairing field.

Well done! You handle things with so much ease that comes out only from prolonged hard work and involvement in servicing!

I guess the corroded resistor was a current limiter resistor. It probably was
used as an overcurrent safety 'fuse' although it now was the broken leg that inhibited the Lantern from working, noticing the low resistor value if I saw it right. I suppose that all 60 led's were switched in parallel to the 3V battery?
