Relay Rattling Problem Solved In AMREX UPS Model PROVIEW-600
This UPS was brought to me by a regular customer with the complaint that the relay was rattling and after consulting the computer company, he got the battery replaced twice; but the problem persisted. In order to ascertain the reason, I opened the covers and the following first picture would show you the condition inside:
Second picture would show you how thoroughly the internal cleaning was done. Then looked for any visual defects and what I found is given in the third picture above. There were plenty of such dry solders on the board.
I patched the board very well and on checking under a 10X lens, found out that I had made shorts in three places, which were rectified. There was a control board fixed vertically, which I removed for proper soldering. Just see how it looked after the work:
The last two pictures would show you the number sticker affixed by the company on the program IC and what lies underneath it. After finishing the rework on the boards, lubricated the connectors and when I tried it keeping it connected externally, it worked very well.
