Hair Straighteners Restored
By Jestine Yong on December 22, 2024
This hair device was brought to me by an hair dresser from a salon in the neighbourhood with complaint of one side plate not getting hot. So i did open it and examine it, i notice lot of congeal cream inside it, clean that first, then examine the wiring which reveal not much components, only bulb led, resistor and switch.
So plug it to a/c wall socket, notice one side is hot while the other is not. Since scrab of this device of another model is available with me, i remove an old working plate from the scrab, then remove the elment coil carefully, then insert into the original plate, connected the wires and assembled everything together and powered.
Feel the two plates with my palm, both plates getting hot now.
NOTE: I did not use the scrab plate directly because it’s not the same size with the one to be repaired, so i had to remove its element coil to be used.

Good thing you had a spare because these parts are hard to find. I have plenty of these parts in my shop but I do not get this kind of devices for repair. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day
