Shorted Horizontal Output Transistor Again?
I believe those who repair Monitor or TV must have came across problem like shorted Horizontal Output Transistor (HOT) and after the replacement and power “On” the equipment “poof” the same HOT shorted again even if you replace it with an original part number. Some new tech may give up and did not know why the component burnt again. Here are just some of the causes why the newly installed HOT shorted again: a too high B+ voltage, shorted flyback primary winding, shorted horizontal yoke coil, an open safety capacitor, dry joints in flyback transformer area and a wrong drive waveform supplied to the HOT.
