A Simple Fix To A Hair Dryer That Goes Into Shut Down When Operated
An old man brought this hair dryer to the shop for repair. He explained that after one minute of operation, it goes into shut down and recently when used, the earth leakage key keeps tripping every time it was used.
It is an expensive one and that is why the customer wants it fixed as soon as possible.
The first thing that came to mind is to check the power plug because when I looked at it,
it was melting on one side of it as seen in the photo.
As I took the power plug apart, I saw this damage and as seen, the power wires were melting on the inside.
That needed some urgent repair for the customer because he was waiting in the shop for it.
I replaced the whole power cable with a new one and I added a metal sleeve to the cable. Once they were pressed on I was ready to put the plug cover back and test the device.
That is the final product and as seen it was nice, clean, and safe to be used once again. I powered on the device and let it run for about two to three minutes. The customer was happy with the outcome, paid well, and left the shop.

A professional repair! But one that makes me wonder why he needed that hair dryer so urgently that he waited for it while the repair was done?
