A Simple Fix To A Simple Fault In A Musical Keyboard
A friend of mine brought his son’s musical keyboard for repair. He said that it went completely dead so he went and bought a new power supply assuming it was faulty but that did not help in powering on the device so he brought it to me.
That is the brand model of the keyboard and the customer also brought the new power supply
that he bought to check it out as well.
I took a lot of screws off the back of the device to expose the inside of it but I did not see anything obvious faults so I have to examine the board closely.
The board looks brand new and again nothing seems to be faulty here either.
Do you see the fault?
If you did not see it that is ok because I had to do a voltage testing to find out.
Do you see it now? Yes of course it is clear now and it took one drop of solder to get it fixed.
I wish all the repairs that comes my way this easy but that is a wishful thinking…LOL.
Mission Accomplished.

The bad soldered power connector was immediately and easily noticed in that first photo! Taking the keyboard apart was probably the hardest part of this repair, like often is the case in these musical keyboards.

Albert: I am glad you did. yes, taking the keyboard apart was not hard but took time since there are many screws to come out but with a impact drill it was a breeze. have a blessed day
