A Turkish Made Welding Machine That Was Shorted, Repaired and Maintained
This is one of the frequent visitors to my work bench and I see in them always the same exact fault but this time it was a different; take a look
The main fault with this machine; it welds for about a minute or two then the yellow warning LED come on indicating a short in the device.
Usually this have to do with IGBT/Mosfets shorted out but in this case it was as seen in the photo shorted melted cables that go to the main transformers, more about them in a minute.
As I took the main board out to see the extend of the faulty wires out if they are reaching the main transformer or not.
From the look of these black and red wires they seem fine but no harm comes from checking and making sure all is well.
The wires and transformers seem to be in good shape.
One thing remains is to put everything back together and solder on a new wire socket and test the machine.
I found the right used socket in my workshop; I wired the wires according to their color, added an electrical tape for safety and then powered on the machine. If everything goes well, then I will add a heat shrink tubes for safer soldering professional job.
The machine powered on just fine and when I took it next door for my brother to check; it was working according to specs and the yellow LED light stayed off this time indicating that all was well.
Mission accomplished.

Good fix! Waleed,
What was cause for Melting Wire...Loose connection?

Yogesh: thanks man. the cause was loose connection on the main socket pins causing sparks and of course due to the customer ignoring that issue, the machine eventually will shut down causing over heat. have a blessed day
