A TV With A Bad USB Input Repaired And Maintained

My sister in law from the school that my son goes to gave me a call and asked me if I can stop by the school any time soon. In my mind I thought my son did something bad but she laughed and said that no, that is not the problem. She wanted me to take a look a TV that they have in school that does not accept or display a USB flash memory inputs.
I stopped by the school when I dropped my son off and I put the TV in my car and took it to my shop for inspection.
I powered on the TV and plugged a USB flash drive into the USB input and I could not see any display on the panel
but when I pushed the USB flash card a little bit more into the USB drive, the display came on for a short time indicating either a bad USB port or just cold bad soldering joints.
To the naked eye these soldering joints look fine but once the board was put
under my microscope I could see some bad soldering joint and I think that is the issue I was dealing with here.
I re soldered all the joints of this USB port and the joints around it to make sure all were making good connections.
I powered the TV on again and inserted the USB flash memory in and this time I could see what was on that flash card. I wiggled the flash card and the picture stayed on nicely which indicates a repaired USB port.
I cleaned everything inside and put the TV back together, called my sister in law and informed her of the outcome.
I put the TV in the back of my car and the next day when I dropped my son off I gave her the TV and she was happy with the outcome.
Mission Accomplished.

More than the electronic service, the service you provided to the school that too in which your own son is studying, is what is very appealing and qualifies for applause! There you had multiple benefits and raised the pride of your son too among his classmates and friends and maybe with teachers too! Well done, dear friend and thanks for sharing!

Waleed good job on the repair. Sometimes you can miss things with the naked eye. It is good to go back over the area for a second look with a microscope.
