About Burnt Components

If you found one or few components burnt and after replacement and those components burnt again then you have to set a standard procedure to tackle this kind of problem. Many times components rarely burnt by itself especially the resistors. There must be a reason why the component burnt. What you must do is to check all corresponding components that lead to the burnt component. If you found a protection resistor burnt inseries to the supply line to vertical IC then you can conclude that the vertical IC shorted causing the resistor to burn.

Assuming you have check that the corresponding or  surrounding components are good then you may have to suspect other component like the switch mode transformer, flyback transformer (in CRT Monitors/Tvs) or even the high voltage transformer in LCD inverter board have shorted. Make sure the power supply output voltages are good first before checking the surrounding components.

   HI ARNOLD,
   It can be the h/v wire signal broken in the cable, bad CPU or even data corrupted in EEprom IC.
