About CRT Monitor Grounding
If you want to perform voltage testing on the CRT Monitor board please make sure there must have at least a ground (cold ground) from the CRT picture tube to the CRT board. If there is not a single ground to the CRT board i’m afraid when you swith “On” the Monitor it will instantly kill the CPU. Long time ago i had made this error with the killing of the Samsung 17″ CRT Monitor CPU. The CPU is located underneath the picture tube thus it is very easy to get spoilt by the static /discharge. I don’t want you to follow my footstep so please make sure there is at least one ground from the picture tube to the CRT board!
By the way, it is not easy to get the spare part for the Samsung CPU. Even though you could get one it would be very expensive!
