Bluetooth Earbud Boult Audio X50
Received Bluetooth earbud for physical damage repair….one earpiece is found broken.
I found Driver (Speaker) solder point connection are missing.
Driver Size is 10mm in diameter, checked with my part supplier they told me they do not deal because it is not fast selling item.
Here I am not sure that rest unit is working or not hence I did not order it on- line. I confirmed about Battery it is showing 4.1v it is in normal working range.
Now arranging the driver is question. I looked in my salvage stock & I found one Bluetooth Neckband is there. This neckband missing magnet sensor in one side unit. I took out it for check whether it is usable.
Checked Driver size, I found diameter is 9mm and thickness is bit high around 4.5mm, bad one Driver is 10mm & thickness is 3mm. so I doubt it fit inside the unit with battery. I do not have any other option hence decide to take a chance.
Removed Driver for replacement, it was glued so I used hot air gun to remove it.
And soldered to the unit. After soldering I paired Bluetooth to my mobile & tested for working it worked perfect.
Now it is struggle time for fitting because cover is not fitting properly because of high thickness of the driver.
I decide to use superglue but one side effect of this glue is chances are high to damage the unit while opening next time. So discussed the thing with the customer & after his approval I used the super glue gently on outside border only so that it glue cannot enter inside the unit. before sticking I used Kapton tape over Battery contacts & over driver contacts to insulate it.
And I done it successfully. I checked again after final dress up for working & device is ready to pick up.

The customer was lucky that the thicker replacement earbud speaker with driver still fitted into the earpiece. As it also became a bit thicker because of the for safety used kapton tape.
