boAt Airdopes Repaired

Problem Reported: Right Side Ear Unit Not working.

Received Boat Airdopes for repair for above stated problem, customer referred by my friend.

For testing connected the unit on my mobile Bluetooth & played the song I found exactly the same problem as stated.

So for confirm the ear Bud Charging Voltages

I open the bud charging cradle tor testing the voltages.

Checked voltages on both the side, I found voltages in the cradle are OK.

In cradle Right side unit, it is showing 5V, it confirms cradle side is ok and problem with right hand side Ear unit.

I opened the right side ear unit for inspection.

On opening I found Black -ve wire to battery is hanging outside. I surprised this wire was not soldered on the battery lid because there is no sign of solder on both the side.

May be this is the cause battery is not charging and right side ear bud was not working.

Soldered the wire back to its position.

After soldering i reassembled the unit for testing by applying glue on its edges.

After few ours of setting of the glue, I put the unit in cradle for the charging.

After two hours I again paired this device on my Mobile for testing, played song & I found unit is fixed.

   These chargeable earplugs are known for becoming problematic. Often after the contactsprings in the base unit break off from the internal board.
   Which mostly happens because of the the weak design with tiny copper layers with very small soldercontacts. That hardly are strong enough to hold the pressure from the pushing down earplug contacts.
