Brighter LED For Blue ESR Meter

By on September 26, 2008

Yesterday i went to electronic shops not only bought the things that i mentioned in the previous post, i also bought two LED’s to replace the LEDs in the Blue ESR meter. It was just a test to see how bright is this new LED where the sales assistant in the electronic shop told me the LEDs could produce a very bright light. I know that it may consume more current but seeing the bright dot beside the ESR readout was truly satisfying. If you own the Blue ESR meter you may also replace the LEDs to a brighter one to test it out too. Its all on your preference-you may also select other colors of LED too! Here are the photos of the original and the new LEDs.

    Hi Moshin,

Could you elaborate what do you mean by 2 core LED?

I was going to do this very thing! I actually installed my LEDs too short. Instead of placing them flush with the displays they sit pretty far down on the board. Its a pain.

    HI Kybosh,
Try the smaller one because the bigger one had caused a slight very changes in the ESR value result when we test it.
