DVD Spindle Motor Problem Repaired
The complaint of this Star DVD player was no CD even though the CD disc already been inserted. You can see the error message in the photo below:
Once the cover been removed, I immediately focus on the lens assembly because a faulty lens and spindle motor can cause the DVD player to show the error message.
The first thing I do was to check on the spindle motor. When I tried to turn it with my finger I found that the motor was jammed. This is surely the fault of the motor.
It was easy to remove the spindle motor. Just remove the two screws and the motor can be easily taken out.
I bought the replacement spindle motor from the local market and the brand name was Suoer as seen in the photo below:
Be careful when you solder the motor. You need to observe the color of the wire. Red means positive and black means negative.
Once the spindle motor was fitted and powered On, I could see that the CD spin in a great speed and the front display was already showing that it was playing a CD. If you want to learn how to repair DVD player the easy way, you can check out Humphrey’s ebook HERE.
By the way if the spindle motor tested good then I may need to check on the lens and other related area.

Great! I have never seen any motor in DVD players, which is stuck! The usual complaint is that it does not take the load or it is erratic, like the sliding motor.
