Earphone Mic Installation Modification
Generally, when I am in my workplace I use this earphone since last 8 years, as you all know when you are comfortable with the things you cannot change it frequently without reason.
Since last few days’ peoples from other side complaining that some time they couldn’t hear my voice clearly. So one day I decide to just check the unit & fix it if possible or I can use my another Bluetooth neck bend which I am uncomfortable because of frequent charging or may be go for new wired headphone.
I have already started work & missed some starting photos ……. so for inspection I opened button unit directly because this button unit is having mic inside. I seen mic is directly connected on the PCB & it is very small in the size…
Searched for the same size Mic but not find any lead, so I opened my collection of salvaged parts.
I found one mic but it is larger than the mic on the PCB …. if by chance I manage to solder it on PCB the outer casing will not fit .so I have to modify it some another way.
Soldered thin salvaged wires from non-repairable headphones to this replacement Mic.
Negative terminal is always connected to the outer body of the mic
Always check the polarity when connecting condenser mic.
Made hole in plastic top cover of the button unit & pass wires through it & soldered wires on the PCB in place of old removed mic.
After soldering the wires, I checked Mic for working in mobile it works well.
Hence fitted the mic on top cover using the white glue.
And earphone is ready for the use.

It is not unusual that these condenser microphones stop working because they say that they even when in stock and never have been used eventually will deteriorate. I can't speak from experience but that is what I have read somewhere recently after examining some FM micro-spy circuits.

Albert: I never heard that before and I have plenty of these smaller sized mic’s in stock for at least two years now and I always install them on phones and I never had a complaint about them. Have a blessed day

Very nice.
I have done a similar repair.
I always place a thin layer of sponge over the microphone to reduce air noise.

Menahem Yachad,
You are right!Sponge will protect the mic from the dust as well reduce air noise.
Thanks for comment.
