Going For A Fishing Trip
By Jestine Yong on January 20, 2010
I’m going for a 3 days and 2 nights fishing trip and will be back on Friday night. There is no internet connection at that area and will continue to answer your email once I’m back. For your information sea fishing is one of my hobby and i hope this time could catch some big fish.

Hi Jestine, I'm working on HP L1955, Model HSTND-2B01. There is 2 small 8 pin ICs on the back side of the inverter stage, I think these are controllers for the C5707. One of those 2 chips was completely blown off the board, and 3 of the four C5707 shorted. I could replace the 8 pin controllers if I could get a good number, the one that is still on the board says 4431 AN L46C. the board says Q805. Can you help with info?

Mr. Jestine Yong ,
Sincerely hope you had a good harvest from your trip , be it materially or otherwise.
Well , I just wish I am not too rude to post for a help the moment you are at your door step . Apology if I do .
I had a shorted diode (the common diode symbol) with a green, blue bands on the body ;one end of the conducting legs had a blue mark .
It is from the secondary of a switching transformer and one end is grounded .
I cant find the spare but I have a bunch of diodes which has the same physical size but no colour bands.
How can I determine if one is of zener , say , 5.6V then ? -
Thank in advance .

Hi Behzad,
The result was not good. There's no big fish and came back with small fishes.

Hi Ian,
Sorry, i do not have the flyback part number. Guess you need to find the service manual and locate the part number.

HI Keith,
Try this link:
http://www.bluestar-online.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=4431&Search.x=0&Search.y=0
For your information, recently their service was not that good and if you proceed to order, you must take the risk. or you can call them first you purchase the parts.

Hi Yong,
Most probably it is a 5.6 volt zener diode. Try check out this link:

Hi MALCOLM,
You mean you have two LCD TV problems, one is missing one of the color and the other one is have sound but no display?
If you have scope you can compare the RGB color circuitry. The second one, is there any supply voltage present at the inverter IC?
