‘Gun-Like’ SpotLight Touch Repaired

This spotlight touch was brought to me by a friend in the neighbourhood with complaint of not charging when usb charger is connected to it, no charging led on, that it was given to him as a gift by a friend who just returned home from America, so I wonder how come not working!!!, touch from such country purportedly to be new.

Well!! I switch it on, led didn’t on, I open it up, scan through the board, connect it to usb charger….no life. For the board, the quality is unique.

So I wonder why charging light does not light, removed the battery and check it for voltage….wow it was completely dead, guess it shorted, so replaced the battery with new one and on it….spot led didn’t on, so remove led, test it with analogue meter, it was shorted as well, replace it also.

Then on again…wow spot led lit, connect it to phone charger, green charging led came on flashing…..indicating charging is on progress.

So I wonder again why green led and not red led flashing, so I googled for the user manual, from user manual see what the red led is meant for……good precautions application.

This is the finished repaired work .

Nice job! Most defect flashlights I've seen for repair were not as modern equipped with decent electronic charger board or lithium-ion battery. And those only had a bad defect heavy lead acid battery and simple light bulb with switch and were not worth it to buy or repair at all.

good job on the repair. I had a similar job repair a few days ago. it was a cigicaret ash try but had LED light on it and a rechargable battery included but it was not charging because the battary was shorted. once I replaced it with a new good battery the LED came on and it was fine. thanks for sharing and have a blessed day

I don't buy those flashlight touch that are acid-lead power battery, similarly because it does not last and when the battery is shorted it destroys the board along.Thanks for your comments.
