Hair Stretching Device Restored
This hair stretching device was brought with complaints of deadness and truly when I plugged it in a/c socket and press NO button, there was no life in it. This device is use in salon for women hair.
Opened the device and on visual observation, there was no physical damage, so I did test all components, they got 100% pass marks.
So I decided to use my analogue meter to test the four red LEDs on board, all lit brightly, except the bottom one which lit dimly and at the same time the meter was bleeping and others did not bleep.
So I suspected the LED maybe its partially shorted,
so I desoldered it out for a replacement, the pins (anode and cathode) of the LED are not rusted.
After replacement and assembled everything together and powered on…..Wow device came alive again and the two elements got heated, and having attain its max temperature, it switched off automatically.
This is the finished repaired work.

Good shot Imoudu! I would never have thought to check the LEDs to be honest. I guess when all the usual suspects have been cleared you'll look everywhere else.

Though the problem looked simple after rectification, suspecting the component that could be the problem requires expertise and experience. Many thanks for sharing!

Good Fix!Imoudu
Do not know why manufacturers using Metal instead of the copper in Electronics components 50 % problems are because of the rust.
