How To Fix Induction Cooker- No Power
Customer sent to me the Taiko brand induction cooker for repair and the complaint was no power. If you want to fix any electronic equipment, first you need to understand how the equipment work.
You may refer to other brand of induction cooker block or schematic diagram if you can’t find the exact information of your model. Once the cover was removed I could see the heating coil and a fan-see the photo below:
The other section was the power supply section.When I see it closely I could noticed that the viper 12A power IC was cracked. You can’t find the power FET because it is already built into the power IC.
Usually when the power IC is shorted or blown there could be other components that can go bad too. So I had to check some of the major components and I found that a low ohm protection resistor was open circuit. Other components found to be good included the main fuse.
In this case, there were only two components that had gone bad. One is the power IC and the other one is the resistor. By replacing these two components I managed to bring the induction cooker back to life again. It was quite easy to fix and if you know how to test components, you can start to do the repair work. I can fully recommend Jestine Yong’s ebook on how to test electronic components.

Very good idea to check for associated components that may be bad. The resistor going bad may very well have been the reason the IC cracked.

i also have problem 4.7 uf 450v capacitor bulged and low low ohm prtection resister crack but the power ic 8012 is not crack i replaced capacitor and resistor but no power please help me?

i have a phillips induction cooktop and its power ic was blownup due to overvoltage. all the pins in the power ic are short and the rest of the comnponents seem fine upon testing. the thing is i dont know what ic it is. how can i get an industrial grade ic. can u help me where to get it. thank you

Havells make induction cooker has main fuse 12.5 amps. has blown in power ckt.
How to check induction cooker .

Sir,I have happycall induction cooker, one doesn't power on at all. I changed the power regulator and resistor yet it doesn't power on. The second one beeps sound when connected to the power supply but after which there will be no power on. I changed the resistor, food yet no power on. Please what do I do next.
