Motherboard Repair
I had stopped repairing PC motherboard since i left my former computer distributor company back in 1994. Those days the famous motherboard board were the 486sx, 486dx and the Pentium. I was provided with every model of the motherboard schematic diagrams, Chipset (all range of IC’s), SMD desoldering tools, troubleshooting notes and even the POST diagnostic card. Repairing PC motherboards on those days were quite easy but i doubt nowadays it will be easy unless you are working in the motherboard manufacturers or you have the sources for all kind information related to motherboard.
Occasionally i do have motherboard sent for repair by my friend who deal with selling computer systems. Most of the time was the electrolytic capacitors bulged and quite simple to fix it. Nowadays PC motherboard is quite cheap and less people want to repair it and prefer to buy a new board unless if the motherboard is in the higher range (branded). As mentioned, if you can’t source for the parts it would be very difficult to repair the board. Those days the boards were only using normal SMD IC’s (spider IC’s) but most of the motherboard now are using the BGA IC’s which is very difficult to extract unless you have the special equipment to do the job.
It will be very time consuming to do this precision job unless the profit that you gonna make could cover your cost otherwise it would not be economical to repair the motherboard. It depends on what type of motherboard in the equipment. Generally motherboard is to process signals and communicate with other circuit.

Dear sir,
I am computer engineer from india. i read your ideas of electronic repairing. you mantion very technical testing components.
Simple digital multimeter and analog multimeter are available into india's market. but some tester are not eaisly available.
for example:
- Capistance tester
- Flyback tester (Blue ring)
- transistor tester
Please help me and give me some source where can i find electronic repairing component in india easily
or
any Web address where can i find all tester.

thank you for your information i have a problem withe my hp motherbard
fault. when i start my mainboard after few second it restart
i had change proccesor. heat sink. power supply and make double the fan
of proccesor please give some important information

It could be other chip problem in the motherboard. Since i have stopped repairing motherboard long time ago thus there is no info on this kind of new board-sorry.

i have repaired many motherboard, hp laptop, dell laptop, toshiba laptop and it's easy to remove a bad mosfet and verify the power on sequence you can find the damadged component but when it's a special component like power managment IC it's difficult to find this kind of Ic you can only use an old one from another motherboard but the motherboard are not always the same.

hello i have a couple of questions and i need a solution or advises
I have a sony vaio fz348e and my computer has a problem with the dvd drive... when it's connected in the booting freeze and when it's not booting is quite faste and realiable... i have consult to technician and all of them are telling me that the motherboard is the problem.. everything else works perfect in my laptop, the cam, the speaker, everything but just the dvd drive... it doesnt appear in device manager and it doesnt appear in the computer.... it's like is dead or something....
so my question is WHAT COULD IT BE? what i need to repair or remove in the motherboard? i tested the dvd drive and works perfectly in other computers... Should i fix the motherboard or buy a new one???
Could you recommend me a website in US????

Kindly, Solve my issues as an expert opinion because i am very very upset about this type of repair.
Actually, i have bad experienced in motherboard repairing because, i have done several motherboards repair but unfortunately, i dont satisfied myself from it because operational condition after repair which were malfunctioning and doubtful.
