Repair Of ESR Meter
This my esr metre’s press on/off button has being malfunctioning for some few months back, so I thought it wise to do the need full about it. Open cover case, clean little dust inside and inspect the power on button and I discovered part track and solder pad was ripping off and arm of button shaking. So I decided and prefer to create an alternative by using joint wires to form track, so I did that and replaced press button with one having round press arm, usually press button with a square arm comes with it from factory.
Then connected my new rechargeable 9V ni-mh battery and power on,I see it’s working perfectly well now….hooray!
This the finished repair work.

Noticed that you have the Anatek V1 Blue ESR meter with a Zilog ic. Curious how my ESR meter looked on the inside I noticed they were the same in version and construct.
My Anatek Blue Ring tester however apparently was already version 2 but probably much simpler to fabricate because it only contained a few simple transistors and 2 common cmos ic's instead of the special Zilog and other parts in the Blue ESR tester. Nice thing of this tester is that perfectly shows a short in any transformer coil. Even in small RF coils when we short the primary coil it shows immediately in the secundary coil, and vice versa.

It is a good meter but not be thing I do not like about is the length of the wires. According to the manual it can not be longer than 15 cm with is not much.

Great repair on such a useful tool..... It seems the switch doesn't have a lot of support and if used many many times the solder joints get weak and the switch wants to move around and eventually gets loose and the connection fails ..... I have the 2nd version with the newer chip , I got it from Ebay brand new for 40 USD .... I forget what IC chip is in there ......
