Replacing Volume Control And On-Off Switch Knobs In OPPO-F1S Android Phone
Once in a while we, technicians, get a chance to shine in front of our wives and this case also was such. I had bought a new phone, OPPO-F21-S Pro 5G and had given mine to my wife, being the legal heir! (LOL)
Recently, my wife complained to me that the volume control up/down and the on/off buttons do not work properly and she had to press the knobs down very hard repeatedly to get some result. I followed this Video to open the back cover: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=opening+oppo+F1S&view=detail&mid=CC469698F97CECFDFA5CCC469698F97CECFDFA5C&FORM=VIRE
As the knobs were fixed on the back cover, there was no need for me to remove the battery. Then looked for the reasons why the switches did not work; i.e., whether the push button on/off switches were defective or the knobs which had felt pads were worn out.
On inspection, I could make out that the felt pads were worn out, as a result of which, the knob did not press the switch down. My first attempt was to cut a tape recorder flat belt and fix it underneath the knob. But that failed, as the rubber was not getting properly glued and stayed intact.
Since my crazy attempts to do a patch work failed, I went to a mobile spares shop and bought new knobs and fixed it on the phone.
Then the on/off and volume up/down functions worked properly.
Mission accomplished with double satisfaction finding its secret place!

Keeping in control of all the knobs is the easiest way to handle any device! This modern Touchscreen swiping is never as easy and often makes it worse!

When it come to tiny parts like that it is always the best way to replace with new ones otherwise it would fail in no time. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day.
