Saved Yet Another Lovely Computer LG Monitor Model W1643C From Scrap
I for one never like to dump anything to the scrap until it reaches that stage. Due to the complexity involved in replacing polarized sheets in these types of monitors and as these are not done by any service providers, generally such monitors reach the scrap yard. Because of failure of my attempts to replace it in a couple of monitors before, in which the COF got damaged I too was reluctant and this monitor was moved to the scrap yard, though it really pained me and continued to gnaw my heart.
After successfully replacing a couple of films recently about which I have already reported earlier, I picked up this. As you can see in the second picture, the monitor was really good and only the top sheet was damaged. I peeled off the detached portion and that is why you find the picture like that. I dismantled the monitor and removed the rest of the film. Just see how thick the gum coating is:
Using slight spray of thinner and blades, I scraped the gum off ensuring that the three COFs are not damaged. Look at the finished work below:
Then connected the mother board, fed signal and switched on and kept the 32” TV film on top of that and adjusted the angle to get a good picture and marked it using a sketch pen:
Then cut the sheet on the marked lines using a good tailor scissors. Then fixed the sheet from one end slowly pressing hard with fingers and progressively releasing the protective film so as to spread the sheet evenly on the surface without any air bubbles.
Since I was handling this alone, a few tiny bubbles formed, which anyhow did not hinder view. Look at the result:
Then reassembled the monitor and fed signal and kept it on for several hours before giving delivery to the hospital. I collected only the cost of the sheet as a service to this lovely institution, as I really loved and felt pride to work there.
Mission accomplished with greater satisfaction getting collected.

I still am amazed about the complexity of replacing these polarized sheets you dare to replace with so much confidence.
But at the same time I think you must be a dare devil to even consider doing this!
And I still have no clue what is needed to do these crazy repairs, nor where to get such polarizer sheets?

Polarized sheets are available in Amazon. We need to get available size and cut it to our requirement. Many thanks for your comments, dear Albert!
